Estes Park
Rocky Mountain National Park
January 26, 2007

Estes Park is a small town in the mountains that have little specialty shops. We visited the town and entered the Northeast corner of the Rocky Mountain National Park

Most of the loop was open.

The snow covered surrounding mountains were a view that a camera does not catch.

This sunset with a aircraft trace of travel was a picture to see. Pink skies at night, Sailors delight.

Denver Art Museum
January 19, 2008

Denver Art Museum is a Gem in the AAA Club Tour book and I can see why. The building new addition is built the same like exterior panels as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain

Art out in the exterior area were gigantic.

As you walk in the open lobby to the main floors there are several disc installed on the ceiling, stairways that change numbers from 1-9 at different rates of speed.

The numbers are made up of  several random people that were chosen to give a 4 digit number that has meaning in their life. Then the formula the artist designed would use the 4 digit number to make the sequence of speed the 1-9 was displayed.

On the roof of the Art Museum is the clever work of a wagon with an Indian and Cowboy in a battle.

This modern art sculpture from the hand tools to the rubber tires are nothing but bronze metal making it look like the actual rubber and wood.

This prism sculpture was trying to be decided on where it was going to be placed in the museum. After several positions. The piece was finally sat against the wall by the movers and was liked at that location for the way it reflected against the wall.

A lot of the pieces of art were huge. Some having to have the floor and wall reinforced to support the weight.

Illusion of some of the art

This fluorescent light fixture shined against the corner and made the wall behind it perfectly come together in the corner as blue and green.

Metal man fixture was displayed in the only window of the museum.

This wall art was nothing but a written journal of the artist events experienced over time.

Close-up of the journal.

A lot of the rooms had angled exterior walls. This is one of the few arts displayed and hung on the angled walls.
